Moody Monday 2/16

I couldn't resist sharing this adorable mood board from Studio Calico.  I loved the teal blue triangles and diamonds, color palette, gold hints here and there, and the layered hearts.

And so I created this layout of my great niece from this amazing mood board and color palette.  I mean, who could resist that face??

New Year - new ideas!

So for the last year, my focus on Etsy has been to create Project Life Card sets.  And in that process, my blog has definitely taken a back seat.  So now, my plan is to share those new items as well as new ideas, finds, and layouts on my blog.  New Year - new ideas!  With that said...here are three new sets of cards for my blog.

In addition I have decided to mix up my own album style and while still creating 12 x 12 layouts, I plan to include some project life style pages as well.  This should go well with my Universal Studios photos (especially Diagon Alley and Hogsmead) photos.  Stay tuned!!

3 x 4 Cards

I know that Project Life is really hot these days but I can't bring myself to begin the craze.  I love making the 3 x 4 cards to use on layouts and cards though!!  I have even opened a new section of my Etsy shop to sell them.  I often make two sets - one to sell and one for moi!!!  Here are a few of my favorites!!!

Moody Monday - 2/10 - Pastel Mood Board

Today, I was inspired by this mood board from Studio Calico. I loved the color scheme, sunburst effect, and the circular theme fit well with my photos. The photos that I scrapped aren't the greatest but I could not resist scrapping them.   They are of my great-niece playing in her ball pit.  She played hard but in the end the ball pit won!!  :)

So here is the mood board from Studio Calico:

And here is my layout of my niece:

I hope that you too can be inspired by this mood board!  Happy Monday all!

Moody Monday - 1/20/14 - Pretty in Pink!

As you know, I promised every other Monday I would play with a mood board and create a layout or project based on that board.  This Monday, my inspiration comes from a beautiful mood board that I found on Pinterest called Pink Ladies.  I loved the amazing textures, flowers, color scheme, and I knew the perfect pictures to go with it.

And here is the layout that I created of my beautiful daughter going to Homecoming for the first time!  Obviously I was inspired by the lace flowers but I also created the trim from muslin and dyed it a light shimmery pink to represent the dress in the mood board.  I loved the camera embellishment and couldn't resist adding a camera chalkboard label.  I also added a bit of blue and mint to go with the inspiration mood board.  I hope you like it!

Moody Monday 1/6/13

Who isn't moody on a Monday morning??  Well I recently fell in love with mood boards (little collections of inspiration) to spice up my layouts.  My layouts seem to be a bit blah lately and I felt that I needed to include more textures, layers, and frankly some spice.  So I decided that every other Monday - twice a month - I would share with you a special mood board and inspired layout.  This week's inspiration comes from two places.

1.  I loved the colors and textures in this mood board from Onewed.com

2.  The second piece of inspiration revolves around the CUC DT Board.  Our challenge this month is to use our stash and scraplift another.  So I chose to scraplife Annie C.'s beautiful Be Brave layout.  I rotated the design to fit my layout.

And finally, here is Queen Coco.  All hail the queen!!!  She truly is the queen of our house.  She sits on a furry pillow, gets carried everywhere she goes, rules the cat (and her food might I say), and honestly has a fluffier bed than I do!!!  :)  So again All Hail COCO!!!

I was inspired to use the sheer ribbon similar to the invitations, the flower inspired my fluffy flowers, of course there was color inspiration, and I loved the addition of the "book print" in the fan so I included that in the patterned paper and flower.  I couldn't resist a little bling like the earrings in the center of the flowers and gems on the crown.  Hope you enjoyed my little mood board inspiration.  Check back soon!

Just a Sketch and a Girl!

I loved this sketch from Nuts About Sketches Blog and couldn't resist creating a layout or two to share with you.  Both of these layouts were inspired by Fall and Sketch #289.  Hope you like them!
Here is layout #1 - my great niece having a few Fall photos taken!
And my daughter and our puppy at the local park!
