CUC Blog Hop and D is for Doily Mini-book

Welcome to the Cookin' Up Creations "Put Some Spring in your Scrap" Blog Hop to follow with an amazing crop for NSD!

You should have started from the Cookin' Up Creations BlogEach of us has prepared a special spring project and we can't wait to show them to you on ou  blogs. And we are pleased that our CROP CHEF winner and May guest design team member, Nicole Brenna, is joining us. We hope our projects both delight and inspire you!

And here is the project that I want to share with you.  I created a D is for Doily Mini Book to continue with my alter the alphabet idea that I am slowly working on.  I knew that I wanted to create something lacy for my niece's new baby and decided to alter a flower shaped chipboard book with some doilies.  I first painted each edge with MM paint and covered each side with Paper Wishes paper.  Then I covered with doilies, K and Co flowers, butterflies and bling.  I used the theme of Butterfly Kisses - one of my favorite songs!!!  It always makes me cry!  Enjoy!

These are just a few pages!  Check out the CUC Gallery for more soon!  Oh and I will be giving out my own RAK also.  Just become a follower and leave a comment.  I will enter your name into a drawing for a cute little Spring Embellishment Kit!

And now onto Jenny's BLOG!

Glamming it Up

For this challenge I was inspired by a recent episode on Food Network that took movie snacks and Glammed them Up. They took typical movie concession snacks like popcorn and pretzels and pepped them up a bit.

So I decided to do that with my layout this week also. I "pepped it up" a bit with a bunch of blingy embellishments. I added Stickles to my background pp to some of the dots and around the edge to add some interest. Then I added some silver shimmery trim to the left of the photo. I used Art Gesso and a butterfly template to create a raised butterfly and then added Shimmerz to the butterflies. I then made a trail of bling for each. Finally, I added Shimmerz to the painted letters and completed the layout with some glittery AC Thickerz.
